Possible futures as our climate changes and why we have to get active now!

I have just posted an update on what the future might look like if we don’t take care of our climate and our planet for the sake of our children and grandchildren (and the critters)!

It’s pretty serious stuff. So this is my little post to myself and everyone out there to get active, take charge of your energy use where you can and make it renewable! If you don’t feel like you can do much, just do something! Educate yourself (it is still a, find out how you can make the most difference for the least effort (get the best bang for your buck)! Another thing to do is to have a think about how you, your town, your local businesses can make change happen. Because it is also likely that the best change makers won’t be big government but cities and smaller communities.

One gentleman who is definitely doing all he can is Steve Posselt from Kayak4Earth (http://kayak4earth.com/). And there’s something that you can do to help his cause. Read on. He’s a legendary kayaker who travels along waterways in his kayak and even drags it over dry land when he has to. He’s making a trip that started on January 1 this year (2017) and will end on February 25th. He’s going from Ballina in NSW all the way down to Canberra in the ACT. He will meet local climate campaigners and interested people on his way down, all the while raising awareness of a petition (http://climateemergencydeclaration.org/sign) calling on the Australian government to enact a climate emergency and do something serious about switching our country’s energy use to renewables.
